Density Units
Density is a physical quantity, defined as the ratio of body weight to volume occupied by this body.
International System of Units (SI)
In the international system of units (SI), the density is measured in kg / m³, and in the GHS system in g / cm³.
In metrological measurements, as well as in automation, the derivatives of these quantities are also used:
- Tonne per m³ = 1000 kg/m³
- Kilogram per m³ = 1000 g/m³
- Gram per m³ = 1000 mg/m³
- Kilogram per liter = 1 t/m³
- Gram per liter = 0.001 kg/L
- Milligram per liter = 0.001 g/L
United States and Britain
In view of the fact that in many English-speaking countries the volume and weight are measured in units other than the SI system, then the units of density can also be different.
- Pound per yard³ [lb/yd³] = 0.59327642126 kg/m³
- Pound per foot³ [lb/ft³] = 27 lb/yd³ = 16.0184633 kg/m³
- Pound per inch³ [lb/in³] = 1728 lb/ft³ = 27.6799047 kg/L
- Pound per gallon [lb/gal] = 119.826427 g/L
- Pound per bushel [lb/bu] = 12.8718598 g/L
- Ounce per yard³ [oz/yd³] = 37.0797763 g/m³
- Ounce per foot³ [oz/ft³] = 27 oz/yd³ = 1.00115396 kg/m³
- Ounce per inch³ [oz/in³] = 1728 oz/ft³ = 1729.99405 kg/m³
- Ounce per gallon [oz/gal] = 7.48915178 kg/m³
- Ounce to bushel [oz/bu] = 0.804491249 kg/m³
