Force Units
International System of Units (SI)
In the international system of units, a unit of force is 1 Newton.
It is defined as a force that changes the velocity of a body 1 kg per 1 m / s in 1 s per second in the direction of the force, i.e. 1 N = 1 kg · m / s².
- 1 meganuton [MH] = 1000 kN
- 1 Kilonewton [kN] = 1000 N
- 1 Newton [N] = 1000 mN
- 1 Millinewton [mH] = 1000 μN
Non-SI Units
- 1 Ton-force [tf] = 1000 kgs = 9806.65 N
- 1 Kilopond [kp] = 9.80665 N
- 1 Kilogram-force [kgf] = 9.80665 N
- 1 Grave force [Gf] = 9.80665 H
- 1 Gram-force [gf] = 0.001 kgs = 9.80665·10-3 N
- 1 Milligrave force [mGf] = 0.00980665 N
- 1 Milligram-force [mgf] = 9.80665 μN
- 1 Dyne [dyn] = 1 g·cm/s² = 10-5 H = 1,0197·10-6 kgf
